Major client update for performance, security, and usability
We are thrilled to announce the fourth major client update in the history of ticketeer! This time it will not look very different from before, but we’ve made significant changes under the hood to enhance performance, security, and prepare the platform for future development. Let’s dive into the details.
Scheduled release: Saturday 5/10 , 20:00 – 23:59
Our update will roll out this Saturday, during which the ticketeer client may be unavailable at times. However, the API will remain unaffected, ensuring no disruption to your data and integrations.
Complete code overhaul for better performance and security
The core of this update is a complete rehaul and optimization of ticketeer’s client code. This effort ensures that our platform remains up-to-date with the latest security patches and optimizes it for future development. These improvements might not be immediately visible, but they’ll provide a smoother, more secure experience.
UI and functionality improvements
We’ve made some noteable tweaks to the user interface, resulting in a cleaner and more streamlined experience. Additionally, we’ve enhanced the functionality in some areas, for example:
- Improved file pasting: Pasting files as attachments in tasks now works for more file types and sources.
- Sound cues removed: Based on feedback, we’ve removed sound cues, which many found distracting. We hope this change will create a more focused working environment.
- Redesigned dashboard: The dashboard listing all your boards has been slightly redesigned with a cleaner look and a filter function for those of you with many boards.
- Merged search and task filter: To save some space in the menu the search and task filters are now in the same place. The filtering havs been improved and options can now be combined to make advanced (logical AND) filterings. We’ve also added assignees as a filter option and you can choose to hide non matching tasks entirely.
- Harvest integration removed: We’ve decided to remove the Harvest integration due to its limited usage and instability. However, you can still achieve similar functionality by using our Zapier integration, which offers more flexibility and reliability.
- Simplified board statistics: Even if you understood what all statistics really meant (which wasn’t always clear) it still was hard to get a good overvew of what was really important in the old report. We have now tried to identify and only show what’s really important and build from there.
Security enhancements: PassKeys
With this update, we’re introducing PassKeys to enhance account security. We highly encourage all users to enable this feature and switch from using username and password for stronger protection of their accounts. Keeping security at the forefront, PassKeys offer a more secure and user-friendly alternative to traditional passwords.
Increased risk of bugs – We need your help!
As with any major update, there’s an increased risk of encountering bugs. If you come across any issues, please report them using the feedback form in the dashboard. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us maintain and improve ticketeer.
Stay tuned for more features!
This update is just the beginning. We have plenty of exciting features and improvements lined up. We appreciate your continued support and look forward to bringing you even more enhancements in the near future!
